Each year, the North Carolina Community College Learning Resources Association seeks nominations for achievement, life membership and scholarship awards.

The Scottie W. Cox Memorial Scholarship, $1,000, and the Mertys Bell Scholarship, $500, are awarded to nominees who are taking course work in the library field toward a degree or for professional development. What better way to encourage our colleagues than to award scholarships for their efforts?

"...winning the Mertys Bell was the shot in the arm that I needed.  I had been working on the Library and Information Technology degree at Central Carolina since 2000 and was getting weary.   Being awarded the scholarship gave me the incentive and motivation to dig in and finish the degree.  I am so happy and proud that I did."
